Dr. Mohamed Muizzu took oath of office as the 8th President of the Republic of Maldives on Friday, 17 November 2023.
At a ceremony held at Jumhooree Maidhaan (Republic Square), Dr. Muizzu was sworn in by the Chief Justice of the Republic of Maldives, Honourable Uz. Ahmed Muthasim Adnan. Following the swearing in of the President, Mr. Hussain Mohamed Latheef was sworn in as the Vice President of the Republic of Maldives.
The ceremony was attended by His Excellency Ranil Wickremesinghe, President of Sri Lanka, and other dignitaries from 48 countries and many international organisations.
